I love eating with the seasons. It makes sense so much in terms of both flavour and sustainability.

Fern Verrow sounds like a wonderful book. I will seek it out.

I completely agree, Ana! I'd also check out writing by Edna Lewis and Patience Gray. When you look at recipes from a time before everything was at our fingertips it all just makes so much sense. A joy to read and a joy to cook! Fern Verrow is worth buying for the photography alone. Happy coking and reading!

Exactly, Bob! All of her books are marvellous for explaining not only what to cook and when - but why exactly you should cook it, too! A wonderful read.
